The Point Sur lighthouse sits between Carmel and Big Sur on a rocky coastline and is known to be haunted. The treacherous coast has been the site of many shipwrecks and the lighthouse is said to be haunted by those who have lost their lives in the wrecks. One of the most common apparitions to appear at the Point Sur lighthouse is a tall man wearing dark blue, 19th-century clothing. He has most often been seen wandering around the tower. The lighthouse is now part of Point Sur State Historic Park and moonlight tours are available for those brave enough to wander the grounds at night! Ghost tours are also available during October.
